My experience

I have over 25 years experience in the accounting field to bring to you. I operated my own Public Accounting firm full time from 1993 to 1997 in the Scotttsdale, Arizona area before marrying a White Mountain gentleman and making the move. Prior to 1993 I built the accounting firm for five years serving the same client base. The firm's emphasis has always been the small business owner and individual citizen.

I come from a long line of small business owners. That line includes both grandfathers, one grandfather's four brothers, both parents, my brother and three uncles. Was there any choice? Having a family that came from Scotland on top of that doomed me to being an accountant and owning my own business.

After moving to the White Mountains, I worked at the White Mountain Regional Medical Center as their Chief Financial Officer for two years than moved into a part time position in finance for family value reasons. The call of entrepreneurship was strong and I started the CPA firm in the White Mountains in 1999.

Prior to opening my own business, I worked at a large aerospace manufacturer for 18 1/2 years in their accounting department. My work experience there included acting as the "controller" for a number of government contracts including one contract with a price of $23 Million. I also gained experience by working in the accounting departments of internal audit, accounts payable, budget, travel, general ledger and property (fixed asset) accounting where I was manager over 48000 assets with a value in excess of $700 Billion.

I believe in giving back to the community and am active in the Alpine (current treasurer) and Round Valley Chamber of Commerce as well as the Rotary Club of Springerville (I have held several director positions). I also belong to professional organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Arizona Society for Certified Public Accountants.
