Dear Client: The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act was passed to protect the privacy of customers and consumers (a distinction made in the act) of financial institutions. The definition of a financial institution includes Certified Public Accountants. I am required to send you a copy of my privacy policy annually. Because the act defines even your names, addresses and phone numbers as being covered because they have been derived from our working on financial information together, those are included in a privacy policy. The following paragraph highlighted in bold letters is my policy. PRIVACY POLICY OF RACHEL L. KUENSTLER ENTERPRISES, LTD Rachel L. Kuenstler Enterprises, LTD collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal or business information about you to anyone, except as permitted/required by law. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer/consumer, we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees/contractors who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal/business information. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the above number. If you need to make a long-distance call for this matter, please call collect. My fundamental philosophy regarding the information you provide me is that it is not disclosable to anyone except as allowed or required by law. That is what this policy states. Individuals have the right to “opt-out” of the provisions of privacy policies, but since my policy is one of non-disclosure with the exceptions noted, you may want to clarify your desires before “opting-out”. Be sure to call me to do so. Sincerely,
